Daniel Pearl’s Father to light flame on Yom Hazikaron
Prof. Judah Pearl, the father of the late journalist Daniel Pearl will light one of the memorial flames at the Yom Hazikaron (Israel Memorial Day) ceremony in Jerusalem, the day before Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day).

Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and brutally murdered 11 years ago in Pakistan by Islamic terrorists while researching a story on Muslim radicals for The Wall Street Journal.

Pearl was cruelly beheaded only nine days after his abduction. In a video filmed by his killers, Pearl was filmed stating, “My name is Daniel Pearl. I’m a Jewish American... My father is Jewish, my mother is Jewish, and I’m Jewish”

His father, Prof. Judea Pearl will light the memorial flame at the Israel Memorial Day ceremony that honors the memory of Jews murdered in cold blood in terrorist attacks and anti-Semitic incidents across the globe, in addition to Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror attacks in Israel carried out by Islamic terrorists.

Daniel Pearl’s wife Marianne, and his son Adam, who was born several months after his father’s murder, also will be present at the ceremony.
